the aim

A Telehealth Service is a consultation with a Specialist Health Care Provider via video conference. 

Telehealth Service’s provides Health Care Specialist consultations to all people of NSW, regardless of their proximity to the Specialist. The Telehealth Service aims to provide more options for the people of NSW to access Specialist Health Care consultation regardless of their geographic location. In particular this provides more access for regional NSW people to access more Specialists.

The MOH appointed SI to design and build a system to allow the NSW Ministry of Health to provide health professionals and the public with the tools to find the nearest, in terms of driving distance, Telehealth Service that offers the required speciality.

the solution

The Telehealth Service Directory (TSD) is a web based application using:

• Microsoft .NET Framework
• Windows Server
• SQL Server
• ASP.NET
• MVC Framework
• HTML, JavaScript, CSS
• Entity Framework
• Google maps

The TSD uses Google Maps to find the nearest and then optionally display more details on the matching Telehealth Service and/or drive directions.
